Liberal Nationals backing Churchill Football Netball Club$1 million state-of-the-art upgrade for Churchill Football Netball Club. By Portal Admin - 22nd October 2018 - Back to News Churchill Football Netball Club will be able to cater for a growing number of women and girls playing local sports with a $1 million state-of-the-art upgrade under an elected Liberal Nationals Government.
The funding will help Churchill Football Netball Club (CFNC) build new change rooms to replace the old and deteriorating facilities at Gaskin Park that no longer meet community needs.
The existing change rooms were built decades ago and do not cater for female athletes and officials or growing demand for the facility.
Gaskin Park is home to junior and senior community sporting groups including football, netball and lawn bowls clubs. The park hosts senior and junior men’s and women’s football and netball games through winter, while Gippsland Power teams train at the facility in the summer months.
The upgrades will enable local clubs to grow, catering for male and female players and officials.
Unlike Daniel Andrews, who has decided to give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade a stadium in Melbourne, the Liberal Nationals are getting behind local sporting clubs like Churchill Football Netball Club who desperately need our support.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport Danny O’Brien
Sport brings our country communities together and better facilities will mean even more people can get out on game days.
The Liberal Nationals are fighting hard to make sure our local clubs have the facilities they need so locals can keep fit and enjoy the pride of representing their community.
Comments attributable to The Nationals candidate for Morwell Sheridan Bond
These upgrades at Gaskin Park will help build on the growing number of women and girls taking up sport at the community level, helping to retain and attract new players.
The Latrobe Valley has a proud history of getting behind our sports teams and I’m proud to continue that by supporting Churchill Football Netball Club to help bring their dreams into reality.
Comments attributable Liberal candidate for Morwell Dale Harriman
Churchill Football Netball Club is a proud club with great plans for modernisation to accommodate growing use of the facility.
This commitment will go a long way in assisting the Churchill Football Netball Club to bring their facilities up to standard.
