Festival In Need Of Volunteers In the lead up to the Boolarra Folk Festival, Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe is encouraging Latrobe Valley residents to put their hand up to volunteer at one of the regions most popular events. By Russell Northe - 14th February 2011 - Back to News "The Boolarra Folk Festival is an award winning annual festival held in the fresh green surrounds of the central park in Boolarra. Combining music, arts, crafts and free family fun, the festival attracts 5,000 people each year, and is a fantastic drawcard for our region," said Mr Northe.
"With this year’s festival gearing up to be another great success, there is always the need for extra support from the community, namely the assistance of many volunteers for only one hour of their time.
"There are a wide range of tasks to be undertaken, and would suit many people’s interests, from manning the information tent to sell programs, merchandise, assisting with wine sales, or assisting with car parking.
"Every little bit of help will go a long to ensuring the viability of this festival in years to come. Volunteering is a fantastic way to support your local community, and will greatly assist the Boolarra Folk Festival committee."
All volunteers are asked to complete a registration form on the day, which ensures coverage by the Committee’s Public Liability Insurance.
