Local Artist Wins Dick Bishop Memorial PrizeLocal artist Lyndy Lord is the recipient of the 2009 Dick Bishop Memorial Prize, awarded by the Latrobe Regional Gallery. By Latrobe City Council - 11th September 2009 - Back to News Dick Bishop was a passionate supporter and educator of many artists within Latrobe City and this prize is a fitting tribute to the significant contribution he made toward the development of the visual arts within the region.
Lyndy Lord is inspired by her immediate environment and explores the relationship between humanity and the natural world. Her exhibition of prints, Etched in Nature, presents thought-provoking images that consider our survival in nature, which appears to be increasingly tenuous.
Etched in Nature, opens on Saturday 5 September 2009 and will continue until Sunday 15 November 2009 at the Latrobe Regional Gallery.
