‘Whiteout’ will open in the Switchback Gallery on October 17. The exhibition showcases the work of several local artists including: Lialiana, Barbiere, Sharon Billinge, John R Neeson, Anna Caione, Marieke Dench, Jodi Heffernan, Peter Kartsounis, Valentina La Piana, John R Neeson, Greg Neville, Geoff Tolchard, Adriane Strampp, Geoff Tolchard, Greg Waynn and Jill Orr. It will run until November 9.

50 year 10 students from Maffra Secondary College will visit Monash Gippsland and Monash Clayton on October 19. Students will meet current university students, tour the campus and mingle with staff and students over a free lunch.

A research project that investigates why young teachers leave the profession will be undertaken by Dr. Margaret Plunkett and Professor Margaret Somerville from the Faculty of Education – an issue of particular concern in rural areas such as Gippsland. It is expected the research will uncover how graduate teachers can be better supported in their first year of teaching.

  • Making the Grade

Current Master of Visual Arts student Kim McDonald is holding an exhibition titled ‘Sites of Inclusion’ at Meeniyan Art Gallery from 22 September - 26 October.
