Finishing touches of $400M Morwell Railway Station upgrade underwayThe finishing touches are underway on the new platform at Morwell Railway Station, according to local MP Darren Chester. By news@gippsland - 16th December 2022 - Back to News Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said the upgrades to the station and new platform included asphalting, signage, lighting, speakers, benches and security cameras. "There is also a new canopy and passenger information displays as well as lighting installed in the revamped passenger underpass." 
New canopy and passenger information displays in the revamped passenger underpass are some of the improvements done on the new railway platform "The work is part of the Gippsland Line Upgrade which is mainly funded by the previous federal government with more than $400 million and includes further station upgrades and safety improvements."
