Business Support Fund to Close Soon
Applications for the State Governments Business Support Fund Expansion program, to close over the coming days.
Member for Morwell Russell Northe, is reminding local businesses’ that applications for the State Governments Business Support Fund Expansion program are to close over the coming days.
"In what has been a very trying time for many businesses during the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, I do encourage local eligible regional businesses to apply for the available $5,000 of funding through the Victorian Business Support Fund" Mr Northe said.
"Applications close on Monday 14th September, and it’s important that businesses submit their application prior to the expiry date" said Mr Northe.
"The Fund has been beneficial to a large cohort of enterprises over recent months, which has been so critical to organisations whose revenue has dropped markedly or even been eliminated altogether" Mr Northe said.
"Whilst the Business Support Fund has been a lifeline for many businesses the fact that sole-traders and similar business structures have been excluded from the program just defies logic. I have written to and emailed multiple Government Ministers on a regular basis to request that the criterion and rules be amended to be inclusive of these same businesses" said Mr Northe.
"On the one hand, the Government has forced the closure of many businesses until at least 23rd November yet on the other hand they have excluded these same businesses from accessing any Government funding support and assistance. This is just grossly unfair" said Mr Northe.
"In that context I really do hope the Government reconsiders its Business Support Fund program and seeks to extend for an extended period of time and be inclusive of sole-traders and similar business structures" Mr Northe said.
Guidelines and applications are available on the Business Victoria Website
