The Metro Centric Andrews Government has once again Shown How Out of Touch They Are
Bushfires: greatest threats to the forest, not the native forest industry.
The Timber Industry is an industry of the 21st century and perfectly fits into a carbon constraint society, afterall it is the ultimate renewable, and any government that is serious about climate change cannot bury their head in the sand and not recognise the merits of this industry. It provides job opportunities not only in rural and regional Australia, but also metropolitan cities.
Dale Harriman, National President of the National Timber Councils Association is appalled at how regional jobs and communities are once again being jeopardised by poor government decisions.
How can the state government justify closing the native forest industry when of the 6% of State’s forests available for harvesting, only .04% is harvested in any year.
The greatest threats to our forests are bushfires and not the native forest industry.
