Have your say on proposed Blue Gum Reserve master plan for Bass Coast

An invitation to the community to express their ideas and opinions about the proposed amendment to the Blue Gum Reserve Master Plan 2019.

Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking community feedback on a proposed amendment to the Blue Gum Reserve Master Plan 2019. The Phillip Island Community and Learning Centre (PICAL) will be relocating to a new site, due to the future construction of the Phillip Island Community Hospital at their current location on Church Street in Cowes.

Revisiting the Reserve’s Master Plan

As part of this move, it is proposed to relocate PICAL’s Community Garden to Blue Gum Reserve, behind the existing SES and CFA buildings, which can be accessed via Settlement Road.

Because of this, Council would like to revisit the Reserve’s Master Plan, to propose the inclusion of the highly valued Community Garden, as well as potentially relocating the historically significant Coel’s Shed to the Reserve.

Community to provide their feedbacks

Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari said it’s important that the community has an opportunity to provide feedback on this proposed amendment. "We invite you to join representatives from Council and PICAL to share your feedback at one of a number of consultation sessions coming up later this month," Cr Tessari said.

Drop-in sessions will be held on Wednesday, 23 June at the Phillip Island Croquet Club within Blue Gum Reserve. The first session will be held from 3.00pm to 4.00pm and the second session will be held from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. Should restrictions prevent these in-person sessions, Council is also offering two online sessions.

Online sessions schedules

The two online sessions will be held via Zoom on Thursday, 24 June, between 3.00pm and 4.00pm and between 6.00pm and 7.00pm. To attend the afternoon session, register at afternoon community consultations. For the evening session, register at evening community consultations.
