"This week is also Asbestos Awareness Week and I wish to note the ongoing efforts of Vicki Hamilton and the ACV/GARDS team in promoting the dangers of asbestos," Mr Northe said.
"Whether it is supporting individuals and families who are dealing with asbestos related diseases, hosting asbestos awareness events, or advocating for improved information about asbestos, ACV/GARDS have done and continue to do a wonderful job on behalf of the community".
On Friday 29 November ACV/GARDS will be hosting its annual Asbestos Awareness Day event at the beautiful Morwell Centenary Rose Garden at 11:00am.
The event includes an ecumenical service to remember those who have passed away from asbestos related disease or who are currently dealing with these diseases.

It’s also a time for those currently suffering from asbestos related disease to understand the avenues of support that are available in the community through organisations such as ACV/GARDS," Mr Northe said.
Mr Northe will be joined on Friday by other Members of Parliament including Member for Narracan Gary Blackwood and Member for Eastern Region Johan Scheffer, in a bipartisan show of support for this event.
