Mr Northe said the Cowwarr Public Hall Committee received $25,000 as part of an election commitment in 2010, to aid the upgrade of local facilities. "Cowwarr is a terrific small community with great character, however many of the town’s facilities require ongoing maintenance and upgrades to retain the town’s vibrancy. "The commitment of $25,000 by a Coalition Government will go a long way to addressing this specific issue as well as allowing other maintenance activities to occur. "The Cowwarr Hall is the hub of the community in many ways and it is imperative that local groups and organisations can utilise this facility for the purpose of functions, events and meetings in a pleasant setting." Chairperson of the Cowwarr Public Hall Committee, Helen Hoppner said this will be the first time that the hall has been painted since being built in 1930. "The local community are very excited about the work being done. This funding will be a great boost the hall and this small community where funds can be very difficult to raise. "The newly painted hall will be a welcome addition to our streetscape which has been underway for some time. Many travellers passing through Cowwarr now stop to enjoy the country charm of this small rural township, so the hall being painted just adds to the charm." Mr Northe commended the work of the committee in continually trying to enhance Cowwarr and its facilities for the benefit of tourists and community members alike. "Cowwarr is a fantastic part of our region, and I have been fortunate enough to visit the town on a number of occasions over the years. During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to listen to the concerns of the community, and at the same time meet some wonderful people. "Our small towns are such an important part of our community, and it’s vitally important that they have full support to be able to continue to enhance and build into the future."
