Information Sessions For Traralgon Indoor Aquatics And Leisure Centre Feasibility StudyInformation sessions on the recently released Traralgon Indoor Aquatics and Leisure Centre feasibility study will be held in the coming weeks. By Latrobe City Shire - 10th September 2010 - Back to News
An information session for residents of the Hubert Osborne precinct will be held Wednesday 1 September, for residents in the Catterick Crescent/Garibaldi Street precinct the session will be held Thursday 2 September, and an information session for the general community will be held Wednesday 8 September. All information sessions will be held at 5.30 to 6.30pm in the Macfarlane Burnett Room in the Civic Centre, Kay Street, Traralgon.
Latrobe City’s mayor, Councillor Kellie O’Callaghan, said the sessions are being held to allow for effective two-way communication between Council and the Traralgon community.
"Community members will have the opportunity to talk to Council officers and find out more about the contents of the feasibility report. It will allow Council to communicate recommendations, and other details, from the report, which will also assist individuals who may be making a submission.
"Council encourages all members of the public to attend the session that relates closest to them, whether they reside in an impacted neighbourhood or are a concerned member of the public. Everybody is welcome to attend and find out more about the results of the study," Cr O’Callaghan said.
Latrobe City’s Recreational and Cultural Liveability general manager, Grantley Switzer, explained that information sessions were arranged specifically for residents in the impacted neighbourhoods of Hubert Osborne Park and Catterick Crescent.
"These information sessions are not designed as a forum to debate the merits, or options outlined, of the feasibility study, but for the public to be able to ask questions relating to its content.
"In addition to the information sessions, Council officers will also be present at Stockland Traralgon on Saturday 2, 9 and 16 October 2010, from 9.00am to 1.00pm," Mr Switzer concluded.
