Register for Sport and Recreation Expo at Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium (GRISS) on 27 September 2023
Join the Youth-Led Sport Expo in Latrobe City! Engage in physical activities, enjoy stalls, food, competitions, and music. Local clubs can register for free. September 27, 11 am - 4 pm.
Latrobe City Council has collaborated with young people to co-design a local Sport and Recreation Expo. The Expo aims to engage young people in physical activity and will consist of stalls, free food, activities, skill development sessions, competitions and music. Council is currently welcoming stallholder applications from local sport and recreation clubs. The Expo will be held in the September school holidays, on 27 September from 11am - 4pm at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium.
Sport and Recreation Expo is a collaborative expo for youth, promoting physical activity post COVID-19. Stalls, activities, and more for the 12-25 age group
Community-wide promotion
Stallholder registration and attendance is free, thanks to the support of VicHealth as part of the VicHealth Local Government Partnership. Although the Expo has been designed by young people, it will be promoted to all community members, with everyone welcome to attend and learn more about the broad range of sport and recreation offerings in our City.
Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan said the event will be a great opportunity for stallholders to engage with young people. "The Expo will provide the perfect platform for local sport and recreation clubs to promote their club and recruit new members."
"There are so many different sporting clubs and organisations in Latrobe City that offer our community the pathways to participation whether that be through a casual game of pickleball, to a weekend competition game of netball or football, along with activities that have more of an individual focus then that of a team, there really will be something for everyone showcased at Latrobe Sport and Recreation Expo," said the Mayor.
Stallholder registration
Mayor O'Callagahan added, "We are expecting around 40 stallholders and 500 attendees on the day, I encourage clubs to consider taking part and getting your registrations in soon!," she said.
Stallholder registration places are limited and close on Friday 4 August 2023, unless booked out sooner. All stallholders on the day will go into the draw to win a $500 Intersport Traralgon voucher. Register to be a stallholder via Latrobe Sport & Recreation Expo Stallholder Registrations EOI page.
