Morwell Historical Society Net Gen Theatrical and Budgeree Hall Reserve Committee share $24,500 funding
Three Gippsland community groups, Morwell Historical Society, Net Gen Theatrical, and Budgeree Hall Reserve Committee, received $24,500 in grants from the Foundation for Regional & Rural Renewal for local projects.
Three local community groups have received funding from the Foundation for Regional & Rural Renewal for projects that benefit the region and community. Local MP Darren Chester said the Foundation for Region & Rural Renewal had awarded grants to seven Gippsland groups through the Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) Program. "Grants of up to $10,000 were awarded to groups to help with local priority projects, disaster recovery and also recovery from the COVID 19 pandemic."

Grant receipients
Mr Chester said, "Morwell Historical Society, Net Gen Theatrical and Budgeree Hall Reserve Committee will share in $24,500 in funding. Morwell Historical Society received $10,000 to upgrade the dated kitchen and make it more fit-for-purpose for their volunteers."
"Next Gen Theatrical received $10,000 to provide a social wellbeing program to support marginalised communities in the region and help with associated performance venue hire costs. Budgeree Hall Reserve Committee will purchase a shipping container to safely store equipment thanks to a $4,500 grant." Mr Chester said.

Gippsland groups to also receive funding include:
- Cowwarr Recreation Reserve Committee of Management
- Golden and Paradise Beach Ratepayers and Residents' Association
- East Gippsland Festivals
- Raymond Island Community Association
Mr Chester said Gippsland received $74,560 in grants throughout the electorate. "These projects will make a real difference to each community and ensure facilities are suitable for all users and volunteers."
"The FRRR receives funding from a range of sources including the federal government to directly support our regional and rural communities. It is fantastic to see so many local projects receiving support and improving facilities for the community now and into the future." Mr Chester said.
