Bass Coast Council welcomes six community project trainees for with support from Westvic Staffing Solutions

Bass Coast Shire Council welcomes six new trainees for a 12-month Traineeship, supported by Westvic Staffing Solutions, this partnership strengthens the future workforce and upskills individuals in our community.

Bass Coast Shire Council is delighted to announce the addition of six new trainees. They will undertake a 12 month Traineeship, each working with a different team within the council. In their work they will be contributing to important projects within our community, gaining valuable experience for their own careers and strengthening the future labour force for Bass Coast.

Welcoming new trainees

The trainees recently welcomed:

  • Emlyn Blackman, Arts, Culture & Heritage team
  • Ruby McGillivray, who has joined the People & Culture team
  • Zara Mazzei, the newest member of the Building Services team
  • Matthew Keitley, who is part of the Information Technology team
  • Emma Longden, who is also working with the Arts, Culture & Heritage team
  • Julia Munro, joining the Tourism & Business Development team

These trainees will be supported in their development by Westvic Staffing Solutions, with Bass Coast Shire Council acting as their host employer.

Traineeship program success

As well as working with their respective teams, over the course of the next 12 months the Trainees will also study a qualification relevant to their traineeship. It is a successful partnership between Bass Coast Shire Council and Westvic Staffing Solutions, with supervisors and teams actively supporting this valuable pathway for upskilling individuals in our community.

"The trainees have already integrated well into their roles, showcasing enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn and contribute to the work of the council.
