Planning and development
Economic land use strategy
Council adopted the Draft Economic Land Use Strategy. Council noted the submissions received for the Economic Land Use Strategy and will advise the submitters of council's decision.
Governance and services
Election period policy
Council endorsed the updated Election Period Policy for community consultation and undertake community consultation from Friday 28 July 2023 to Friday 18 August 2023.
General business item
- Councillor Leaney discussed his recent attendance at the Timber Towns Victoria forum, which was convened in response to the State Government's hastened exit from native logging
- Councillor Jones spoke about the recent Bellbird Park Hockey AGM and highlighted the work of volunteers
- Mayor McCabe spoke about the many community asset committee AGMs held over the last few weeks. These committees are made up entirely of volunteers, people who are passionate about their community, and want to make sure these facilities are well looked after
Council meetings
Mayor McCabe used her Mayoral Minute to speak about the Careers Expo and thank the organisers of this event. Baw Baw Shire Council have reopened council Meetings to members of the public. Bookings are encouraged. Please visit Baw Baw Shire Council meeting page to book.
All council meetings will be live-streamed, and archived recordings will be available on the council website for viewing. The agenda for the next meeting will be available online the Friday prior to the meeting.
