Stewarts Road in Kongwak gets $450,000 road pavement renewal from Capital Works Programs
Road pavement renewal works on Stewarts Road Kongwak starting March 2023 and expected to be completed by mid-April 2023.
Bass Coast Shire Council is pleased to announce the start of road pavement renewal works along Stewarts Road Kongwak. The work will extend 800m from the Inverloch Kongwak Rd intersection to the Scotts Estate Rd intersection. Please refer to the attached map for more information. Council has appointed Stabilised Pavements of Australia Pty Ltd and SR Excavations Pty Ltd through our annual supply contract process.
Stewarts Road renewal will upgrade drainage, pavement, sealing, and line marking works to ensure safety and sustainable road network
The total project cost is in the order of $450,000 which is equally funded through Bass Coast Shire Council's and South Gippsland Shire Council's adopted Capital Works Programs. This project is scheduled to start in mid-March 2023 and is expected to be completed in mid-April 2023, subject to favourable weather, contractor availability and material supply.
Onsite safety measures
The renewal of this section of Stewarts Road will ensure that council's road network is safe, sustainable and able to provide appropriate levels of service for road users well into the future.
What to expect
- Roadside Drainage works
- Over 800m of road pavement renewal by stabilising the existing road pavement
- Road sealing works
- Line Marking
Appropriate traffic control measures will be implemented onsite during these works. This will be a construction zone and we appreciate that for your own safety and others that access will be restricted. Our staff and contractor will notify nearby residents who may be impacted by these works.
Traffic changes communication
Changes in traffic movements will include a road closure, a lane closure controlled by traffic controllers/traffic lights, and a 40 km/hr worksite speed restriction. Outside of normal working hours, the road will be open to traffic with reasonable speed limits. Please follow all traffic control measures onsite.
We appreciate that these works may present an inconvenience and we ask for your patience during these times. Our contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions to residents, businesses and the public. The community, residents, businesses, and other stakeholders will be kept up to date with the project via council's website, an onsite QR code project sign, where appropriate.
