Pre-application for community grants in Baw Baw Shire now open
Baw Baw Shire Council invites community groups to pre-apply for the Minor Capital Work grants.
Baw Baw Shire Council's Community Grants Program provides community groups and not-for-profit organisations with crucial funding to deliver much needed projects within the Shire. With Expressions of Interest for the Minor Capital Work grants stream set to open on Monday 1 May, community members are invited to make a pre-application appointment now to discuss their project ideas.
Applicants will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of their application. Eligible applications undergo panel assessment and final decision by Baw Baw Shire Council
Grant pre-application
The pre-application appointments are an opportunity to receive Council Officer advice and assistance prior to submitting an Expression of Interest. They help to ensure that all criteria are met, and that applicants have a comprehensive understanding of what information is required before submitting.
During the application appointment, Council Officers will support applicants by asking questions, building on ideas that meet the purpose of the grant, improve the quality of applications, and ensure submitters have the best chance of success. After the appointment, applicants will be emailed a link to the Expression of Interest portal which opens on Monday 1 May 2023.
The Minor Capital Work stream can grant eligible groups and projects with up to $10,000, which may be used towards projects like equipment installation, fencing, lighting upgrades, playing surface upgrades, kitchen upgrades, electronic scoreboards, painting, and more. For more information about the application process and to make an appointment, head to Baw Baw Shire Council Community Grants Program - Minor Capital Works page.
Community grants empowerment
Mayor Cr Annemarie McCabe said, "Community Grant Programs play an integral role in assisting local community groups and non-profit organisations delivering quality projects and upgrades for our communities."
"I strongly encourage any group considering undertaking new projects, looking to upgrade equipment or do improvements to their community facility, to take the opportunity to meet with Council Officers and go through the application process in detail. This process often increases the likelihood of a successful outcome and should be done prior to submitting an Expression of Interest," Cr McCabe said.
