Baw Baw Shire Council appoints Anthony Petherbridge as third new director following organisational restructure

Baw Baw Shire Council has appointed Anthony Petherbridge as Director Community and Planning Services following its restructure, joining two new directors and bringing extensive strategic planning and executive-level local government experience.

Baw Baw Shire Council has announced the appointment of its third new Director following a recent organisational restructure. The new organisational structure came into effect on Monday 3 August and was designed to ensure Baw Baw Shire Council was appropriately structured to meet the current and future needs of our community.

Council leadership restructure

The restructure saw a significant change to Council’s Executive Leadership Team, with a reduction from five Directors to three Directors, managing three new directorates including Infrastructure and Environment Services, Customer and Corporate Services and Community and Planning Services.

Anthony Petherbridge has been appointed Director Community and Planning Services. Mr Petherbridge joins Nathan Kearsley, Director Customer and Corporate Services, and Jill Colson, Director Infrastructure and Environment Services, who both commence with Baw Baw Shire Council this month.

Chief Executive Officer Tilla Buden congratulated Mr Petherbridge on his appointment, saying she was looking forward to him joining the organisation next month. "Anthony will join myself, Nathan and Jill as Baw Baw Shire Council’s new executive team. This final appointment brings together exceptional leadership, deep expertise and a shared commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes for our people, partners and the communities we serve," Ms Buden said.

New director Appointed

Anthony Petherbridge - Director Community and Planning Services. Anthony Petherbridge joins Baw Baw Shire from Mount Alexander Shire Council where he is currently in the role of Interim Director Infrastructure and Development. His substantive role is Manager Strategic Planning with City of Greater Bendigo, a position that he has held since June 2021. Prior to that, Anthony spent three years with Knox City Council as Manager City Futures.

During his time at both City of Greater Bendigo and Knox City Council, Anthony has held acting Director roles as Acting Director Strategy and Growth and Acting Director City Liveability, and brings existing Executive level experience to Baw Baw Shire Council.

With a career to date that includes experience in regional, metropolitan and growth Council environments, Anthony is highly regarded in the Local Government sector and brings a broad skillset that will provide great value to the organisation.
