Strong satisfaction results

The result places Council five points above the national average of 59.6 and 5.3 points above the Victorian average of 59.3, highlighting strong community satisfaction with Council services and responsiveness to community needs.

Latrobe City Council Mayor, Councillor Sharon Gibson, said the result reflected Council's ongoing commitment to listening and responding to Snap, Send, Solve requests. "We are incredibly proud to be ranked fifth in Victoria for community satisfaction and to have improved our score in a year when community satisfaction levels declined across both Victoria and Australia."

"These results show that when residents take the time to report issues through Snap Send Solve, they are generally pleased with how Council responds and resolves those concerns," Cr Gibson said.

Strong service performance

The Community Satisfaction Index is one of Australia's largest measures of council performance, combining community survey results with customer ratings submitted through the Snap Send Solve app. More than 251,000 ratings and 17,000 survey responses contributed to the 2026 Index.

Cr Gibson said several service areas stood out as particularly strong performers. "Our highest-rated categories included fallen trees, dumped rubbish, park requests and gutter and stormwater issues. It's great to see residents recognising the work our teams do to maintain roadsides, public spaces and neighbourhoods across Latrobe City."

"Snap Send Solve provides a direct connection between Council and our community, allowing residents to quickly report issues and helping our teams prioritise work in the areas that matter most. The feedback we receive through Snap Send Solve is valuable because it helps us understand what we're doing well and where we can improve," she said.

Councillor contact matters

Cr Gibson added, "Being recognised as one of Victoria's top-performing councils is something we can all be proud of; however, importantly, our focus remains firmly on continually improving services and delivering value for our community. While we do encourage residents to use Snap Send Solve and call our team at Council to raise requests, residents can still contact a Latrobe City Councillor via phone or email."

"Councillors play an important role in representing the interests of the community in decision-making and setting the direction of Council, and hearing from the community directly is key to understanding their concerns. Our contact details can be found on Council's website," she said.

The Snap Send Solve app is a convenient way to report non-urgent local issues. Snap Send Solve can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play. For any urgent matters, including lost animals, aggressive animals or animal welfare concerns, residents should contact Council directly by phoning 1300 367 700.
