Latrobe City Australia Day Awards 2026 nominations is now open, make your nominations by 12 September 2025
Nominations are open for Latrobe City's 2026 Australia Day Awards, recognising individuals and groups making outstanding community contributions. Submit your nomination by 12 September to celebrate local heroes.
Nominations for Latrobe City Council's 2026 Australia Day Awards are now open. These awards pay tribute to local individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the community. Any individual or community group can make a nomination.

Celebrate local heroes
Latrobe City Council Mayor, Councillor Dale Harriman said these awards are for the community to honour special people in our City. "This is your chance to shine a spotlight on those everyday heroes who make our community a better place. Whether it's a tireless volunteer, an inspiring group, or someone quietly making a big impact, now's the time to recognise them."
"Our Australia Day Awards honour the people who step up, pitch in, and make a real difference. Let's give them the credit they deserve - nominate someone who goes above and beyond," said the Mayor.
Nominate worthy locals
Now is your chance to nominate the person or group you would like to see receive an award for:
- Citizen of the Year
- Senior of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Community Service of the Year
Latrobe City Council administers the Australia Day Awards on behalf of the National Australia Day Council of Victoria. Awards will be presented at a civic ceremony held on Australia Day - 26 January 2026.
