Acting managing director Nic Moss said the program has provided great opportunities for students to use their knowledge in an industry environment for over 25 years. "The program gives students a taste of what it's like to work in the water industry right here in Gippsland."
"We offer a paid opportunity for interns to work in their chosen field, with dedicated mentoring and coaching. The internship runs for a period of up to 12 weeks, and interns will work in a team to deliver for our local community," Mr Moss said.
Areas of opportunity
Applications are open in the following areas:
- Engineering: civil, environmental, mechanical, mechatronics, electrical and process
- Environmental science: biology, natural resource management, climate, sustainability, ecology and botany
- Business and commerce: legal, media and communication, marketing, design, journalism
- Information technology
For some students the program can be used to gain credit towards their degrees. Gippsland Water is a fit-for-purpose organisation with a focus on prioritising work-life balance, personal and organisational development, and fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace.
