Live local theatre

It all kicks off on Friday, 18 July with a one night only event of improvised magic: Tiny Festival of Practice led by internationally acclaimed artists Rosalind Crisp and Andrew Morrish, who happen to reside right here in East Gippsland. This show features a dynamic mix of Australian and European performers creating something completely live, raw, and unrehearsed. Blink and you'll miss it.

Then, theatre goes deep with Shore Break, a poetic solo play about memory, masculinity and the stories we carry. Don't miss this gripping performance in Lake Tyers Beach Hall (31 July) and Mallacoota (1 August).

Forge winter highlights

Do you need a good laugh to beat the Winter blues? Lehmo, one of Australia's favourite comedians (from Utopia, Have You Been Paying Attention? Triple M) rolls into Bairnsdale on Thursday, 7 August with Campervan Go, a hilarious tale of family misadventures on the road.

Back it up with a night of storytelling through song on Friday, 8 August, as legendary songwriter Graeme Connors takes the stage with My Lyrical Life - 50 Years On. Expect songs you know and stories you'll never forget from one of Australia's most enduring musical voices.

The Forge is where East Gippsland comes together to be moved, entertained and inspired. Don't miss your chance to be part of it. Details on the event and ticket purchase can be found at East Gippsland Shire Council website.
