Following a visit to the Circus Royale, the staff and children at Murray Road Preschool in Newborough held a fun-filled circus day recently.

Preschool Director, Debra Caughey said that the children dressed up as tight-rope walkers, trapeze artists, stilt-walkers and clowns.

"Special days such as these are great fun for the children but also help with the children’s development. For instance, the children enjoyed doing the circus activities, such as balancing, stilt-walking, trampolining and somersaulting which improve gross motor skills such as balance and co-ordination," Ms Caughey explained.

"As we had been to see the circus, the day also helped with cognitive skills such as memory," Ms Caughey continued.

"It was great to see the children enjoying themselves. They had a great day, just clowning around,’ Ms Caughey concluded.
