At an afternoon tea held at the Traralgon ADASS Centre in Parklane, Mr Hancock thanked Mrs Paulet for the invaluable commitment to aged care that she had provided as a volunteer over the years.
"In Mrs Paulet’s work she has made many friends who join me in thanking her for her hard work and in wishing her all the very best for the future," Mr Hancock said.
"Mrs Paulet has served as a volunteer with the Yallourn North program and with the Traralgon program for the last nine years. She has assisted clients by driving them to and from ADASS Centres, as well as assisted with the preparation of morning and afternoon teas and lunches.
"Like many other volunteers she has made a valuable contribution to the quality of many people’s lives, giving generously of her time in providing companionship, and opportunities for clients to enjoy their leisure, such as with a game of cards," Mr Hancock said.
"It is especially appropriate that in the International Year of Volunteers, we recognise citizens such as Mrs Paulet, and in fact our other ADASS volunteers, and the thousands of volunteers across Latrobe City who contribute to the well being of those who live in our municipality.
Joining Mr Hancock in thanking Mrs Paulet for her invaluable contribution were Community Services Manager, Jeff Marjoram, Aged and Disabilities Unit Leader, Kay Jellis, and ADASS staff, volunteers and clients.
