Special Events Funding Announced

Bass Coast Shire Council has announced $20,500 worth of grants

Bass Coast Shire Council has announced $20,500 worth of grants plus in-kind support to local events in this year’s round of special events funding.

Cr Miranda Sage, Mayor of Bass Coast Shire Council, explained that special events funding is aimed at events that will increase tourism in the area and involve community groups in the process.

"Council is providing grants and in-kind support for a diverse range of local events this financial year," said Cr Sage.

Events that received the grants and/or in-kind support are:

  • Woolamai Beach Life Saving Club Channel Challenge
  • Inverloch Bowling Club
  • Phillip Island Swim Classic
  • Wonthaggi HPV Grand Prix
  • Inverloch Jazz Festival
  • San Remo/Newhaven Lions Club Art Show and Festival
  • Wonthaggi District Eightball Association
  • Wonthaggi Italian Festa
  • Churchill Island Working Horse and Pioneer Festival
  • Kilcunda Lobster Festival
  • Cape Paterson Fun Run & Walk
  • Cowes Classic
  • Powlett River Camp Draft Association
  • Australian 4WD Mud Racing Championship
