Bass Coast Shire Council’s Arts and Leisure Manager, Jenny Churchill, said that all other beach access tracks would remain open.

"People visiting the beach on these days can park along Ramsay Boulevard and use any of the other beach access tracks," said Ms Churchill.

"Throughout the construction of the club house the contractor has tried to keep inconvenience to beach users to an absolute minimum.

"They are now up to a stage where they need to dig trenches to connect electricity, gas, sewerage and water to the facility.

"For public safety this area needs to be temporarily closed while this work is done," continued Ms Churchill.

The Inverloch Surf Lifesaving Club House is due for completion on 17 December.

The new two storey building will incorporate an equipment store, first aid room, patrol room, kiosk, recreation and training areas, kitchenette and on site accommodation for 24 patrolling members or community groups. There will also be toilet and shower facilities for use by the general public and for the club members.
