Silverleaves Residents To Get Fire Ready

Silverleaves residents can improve their bushfire safety and get prepared for the fire danger period by attending a CFA FireReady meeting on Saturday, 20 November.

By Bass Coast - 18th November 2010 - Back to News

Bass Coast Shire Council’s Municipal Fire Prevention Coordinator, James Bremner said the meeting would be held at 2.00pm outside the general store on the corner of Sanders Road and Honeysuckle Grove, Silverleaves.

"We encourage all Silverleaves residents to attend this meeting," said Mr Bremner.

"This week we wrote to almost 550 holiday home owners in Silverleaves advising them of this meeting and encouraging them to come along.

"One of the outcomes of the Bushfire Royal Commission has been the recognition that residents in high fire risk areas need to be self reliant to ensure their safety from bushfire.
