TV transmission problems from Mount Taylor being monitoredLocal television viewers experiencing reception problems are advised that transmission equipment is being monitored to determine the exact fault. By Craig Ingram - 2nd February 2006 - Back to News The Member for Gippsland East, Craig Ingram, said his office had received many complaints from viewers who receive their TV signal from Mount Taylor.
"Problems have been reported from the site since December, but by far the majority of complaints I have received were from Monday evening where reception was cutting out regularly making it impossible to watch.
"Broadcast technicians and power company representatives attended the transmitter site on Tuesday evening.
"Monitoring equipment has been placed at the site and staff from Broadcast Australia and power company, SPAusnet, will continue working together to isolate and rectify the problem.
"Whilst providing service to some parts of Bairnsdale and Wy Yung, Mount Taylor acts as a wider relay for towns such as Paynesville and district. "I realise how frustrating it has been for the hundreds of viewers affected, but I am assured that full attention is being given to providing uninterrupted transmission from Mount Taylor," Mr Ingram concluded.
