Toongabbie Beautification Works Guaranteed Under Coalition $15,000 has been pledged for beautification projects in Toongabbie if the Coalition is elected to Government on 27 November, said Nationals Member for Morwell Russell Northe today. By Russell Northe - 23rd November 2010 - Back to News Mr Northe said three projects were on the town’s agenda, and the $15,000 commitment would ensure completion of the developments which centre on increased tourism and town beautification projects.
"The community has expressed their desire to relocate the visitor information gazebo with new signage, to ensure greater visibility and patronage.
"The information centre will be relocated to the Village Green, which also requires substantial work to complete gardens and bollards.
"The town had also desired to complete landscaping and drainage works around the town’s new CFA shed which will also be covered by the Coalition.
"The CFA shed is a wonderful asset to the Toongabbie community; and the new landscaping will improve the amenity of the CFA precinct for volunteers and members.
"Through this allocation of $15,000, Toongabbie will receive assistance to ensure that these projects are carried out, and funded in their entirety.
"This comes on top of the $800,000 the Coalition has pledged to complete the Gippsland Plains Rail trail which will bring many visitors to townships such as Toongabbie.
"Toongabbie is a fantastic part of our region, and I have been fortunate enough to visit the town on a number of occasions over these past four years. During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to listen to the concerns of the community, and at the same time meet some wonderful people.
"Our small towns are such an important part of our community, and it’s vitally important that they have full support to be able to continue to enhance and build into the future."
