The Virtual Open Week site includes up to date information, virtual tours of facilities, the opportunity to "chat" on-line to GippsTAFE staff, Student Services, information for parent’s page, and other useful links including the Gippsland Portal and GippsRealestate.
On Saturday 6 September from 10.00am-2.00pm you can chat to Paul Haarburger and Sandra Nestor (Business Studies), Shirley Nicholson (Hair Design and Beauty), Gary Dunbier (Applied Art), Brad Shaw (Painting and Decorating), Sally Baker (Children and Family Services), Eamon O'Hare (Health and Community Studies), Andrew Kerr (Engineering), Heather Cupples and Davis Van Heurck (Community Access Centre), Tony Dell (Sport and Recreation), Jackson Long (Automotive), Peter Wallin (Building Studies) Alan Garraway (Electrical), James Farmer (Horticulture), Gary Watts (Plumbing and Gasfitting), and Stuart Cooper, Vince Fede and Terrence Sumner(Hospitality).
To chat with the above teachers, just simply go to the GippsTAFE website and click on the Virtual Open Week icon, then click on "Activities", then on the chat session and person you would like to chat to.
GippsTAFE's Open Week is being held September 4, 5 and 6, with a feature of the open week being a Community Open Day at the Yallourn and Morwell
Campuses from 10.00am-2.00pm on Saturday 6 September, with the whole community invited to inspect the $5 million refurbishment at the Yallourn Campus.
Thursday 4 September from 3pm - 7pm there is "Coffee and Chat with
Coordinators," where the public can drop in for a cuppa and discuss course options with coordinators at the Yallourn Campus.
Research undertaken by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research last year provided some compelling reasons to consider a course at TAFE, with 88% of GippsTAFE students either employed or undertaking further study after finishing their courses, and three quarters of TAFE graduates employed within six months of completing their course.
GippsTAFE has around 10,000 students across Gippsland, undertaking a wide range of courses at Morwell, Yallourn, Leongatha and Warragul Campuses.
Information about the Open Week activities, chat and courses available are listed on the GippsTAFE website, www.gippstafe.vic.edu.au or more information can be obtained by contacting 51204500 or 51270277.
