"Their story is about loss and grief and the subsequent scrambling of time and reason that can occur. Flicking backwards and forwards between the memories, places and moments which make up a life, the Couple attempt to make sense of the loss of their son by building a fortress of words. "Are we witnessing a rehearsed reading of a play? Or are we seeing their story played out in real time? The lines are blurred. Not all is as it seems," Ms Roberts said. "This compelling and involving play is a rewarding production despite the subject matter. The play cleverly reveals the complexities of grief and its effects on both people and their relationships," Ms Roberts explained. "Actors, Maria Theodorakis and Todd MacDonald, each give measured performances of extraordinary tension convincingly conveying the deeply emotional subject matter of the play. "This is a play that avid theatre-goers will love and that occasional visitors will be compelled by," Ms Roberts concluded.
Maria Theodorakis trained in drama and dance at the Todd MacDonald is an actor, director, producer and former artistic director of the influential Store Room Theatre in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Since graduating from NIDA in 1994 he has worked extensively in theatre, film and television, perhaps best known for his long running role on ‘The Secret Life of Us’.
