Farm Safe, Farm Safety Communications ProgramThe Department of Primary Industries is lending its support to the current Farm Safe, Farm Safety Communication Program. By Department of Primary Industries - 11th June 2004 - Back to News The Worksafe campaign is in response to the high incidence of workplace deaths occurring on Farms.
There have been 16 workplace deaths in the State this year, 8 of these have occurred on the farm. Most of these deaths have involved tractors.
DPI who has 110 staff working across Gippsland is well placed to help spread this important safety message to farmers.
Worksafe have launched a Farm Safety Pack. This pack is available from DPI offices or Worksafe Victoria.
Individual Farm Safety advice can also be arranged by simply faxing your request to Victorian Farmers Federation on (03) 9207 5510 or Worksafe Victoria on (03) 9641 1221.
