Minecraft, murals and more for Baw Baw’s Youth Week

Arts and crafts, drone and stop motion filming, music, fitness, e-sports, check the daily listings and get involved on the youth week program.

Whether you are in to drones or drumming, murals or Minecraft, Baw Baw’s Youth Week program offers something for everyone – and best of all, most activities are free. Coinciding with the first week of the school holidays, Youth Week activities run from Monday 28 June to Friday 2 July, with all events open to Baw Baw residents under the age of 25.

Mindfulness practice

Budding animators can learn the art of Stop Motion, while those interested in Print Making can register for a free session with local artist Helen Timbury. Learn the rhythms of djembe drumming and practice mindfulness or master the basics of aerosol art in a limited-space workshop with State of the Art Murals.

Drone workshops with Michael Green from Drift Media will offer essential tips on drone flying, a free showing of Little Women will be held at Warragul Cinema with snacks and adult colouring, and Warragul Leisure Centre will offer a pool inflatables course for to bounce, balance and manoeuvre your way through.

The Minecraft and X-Box parties will be hosted at Drouin and Warragul Libraries, while those wanting to get moving can try their hand at a yoga or Fitness Friday class.

Variety of activities

Mayor Cr Danny Goss said, "If you are looking for something to keep the kids busy over the school holidays, look no further than the huge variety of activities on offer for Youth Week. Whether you are an artist, gamer or musician, keen to get moving or just want to try something new, there is something sure to appeal to everyone."
