Failure to vote notices

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) has sent out 8023 apparent failure-to-vote notices to people who failed to vote at the Council elections in October 2016.

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) has sent out 8023 apparent failure-to-vote notices to people who failed to vote at the Council elections in October 2016.

If you receive a notice you have until 1 March to respond to the VEC. Failing to respond, or not providing a satisfactory response, may result in an infringement notice of $78.

Instructions on how to respond are printed on the back of the notice. All enquiries should be addressed to the VEC on 1300 551 575.
