More Shared Footpaths For Inverloch

Work begins this month on a shared footpath to complete the foreshore link from Grandview Grove to Cuttriss Street and the Inverloch Angling Club foreshore car park.

The shared footpath is 2.5m wide, and allows space for pedestrians and those with ‘wheels’ such as bikes, prams and scooters.
Bass Coast Shire Council Infrastructure Director, Felicity Sist, said there had been great feedback on the shared footpaths in Inverloch and other parts of Bass Coast.

"People are enjoying the extra space and those in scooters find the new surface a much smoother ride," said Ms Sist.

"Construction of this last section of the Inverloch footpath will provide a continuous shared pathway between Abbott Street and Cuttriss Street and make several recreational facilities adjacent to the path more accessible. "Once completed, the total length of the Inverloch shared pathway will be nearly 2.4 km, "Ms Sist confirmed.

Construction of the 650m length of path will start on 17 October and is expected be completed before Christmas.
The project is part of Council’s capital works program and is funded by a VicRoads Bike and Pedestrian Program grant of $278,000.
The construction contract has been awarded to Stephen Wheatley Concreting.
