We’re a whisker away from the school holidays and there’s plenty of activity at the Latrobe City libraries to entertain your little ones. Latrobe City Council’s coordinator libraries, Deb Skinner, said that a special storytime and a musical adventure are on offer. "Our free Maisy Mouse storytime will engage young children as they listen to Maisy stories and take part in a simple craft activity. We want to take them on a magical adventure with lovable Maisy and then they can enjoy a hands-on creative experience. "This activity is free but bookings are essential. Our library events are popular and we expect this one to be especially so. You can book at any Latrobe City library or service centre," Ms Skinner said. Morwel Library Tuesday 20 September from 11am; Churchill Library; Wednesday 21 September from 11am and Traralgon Library Thursday 22 September from 10.30am or 11.30am (repeat session); Moe Library Friday 23 September from 11am. "For our second week, we get musical with Paul Jamieson ‘The Music Man’. Paul is a regular at our libraries with his irresistible rhythms and infections rhymes. He mixes reggae, rap, calypso and pop to keep the audience moving and grooving. "There’ll be plenty of audience participation as he encourages children to play along using musical instruments form his bag of goodies. Paul will be selling is CDs and DVDs to take home. "There is a small charge of $6 per child for this event, but children under two are free. Again, you must book your places at our libraries or service centres," Ms Skinner concluded.
