By GippsTAFE - 20th May 2003 - Back to News GippsTAFE Koorie Unit student Arthur Dawes – Pepper’s artwork was recently accepted to be used on promotional materials for the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service Cooperative Ltd.
The Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service requested Koorie artwork from Morwell and picked only Arthur’s artwork to use.
Arthur is a second year student studying a Certificate IV in Torres Strait Art and Design.
The artwork features local design and colour of the Gunai and Kurnai traditional artwork of the area.
The painting depicts animals feeding at a waterhole.
The artwork will be displayed on brochures, websites, pamphlets, annual reports, posters and signs used by the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service.
The artwork will be displayed at GippsTAFE’s Koorie Exhibition to be held later this year.
