Bass Coast Business Awards On Hold

The inaugural 2006 Bass Coast Shire Business Awards, which incorporate the successful Golden Plate Awards, have been put on hold until next year.

By Bass Coast Shire Council - 20th November 2006 - Back to News

Bass Coast Shire Council had planned eight new business awards for this year, but has postponed them due to a lack of nomination entries.

"We tried a new format this year and unfortunately only a very small number of people returned nomination forms to us," said Council’s Small Business Development Officer, Margaret Murray.

"There just weren’t enough entries to identify winners in all categories."

Ms Murray said Council was very disappointed the Awards could not go ahead this year.

"It is our desire for this event to take place each year so we can give recognition to small business in the Shire.

"We will investigate new ways to attract a higher level of participation next year and planning will start in February 2007 to seek sponsors for the event," Ms Murray continued.

For all enquiries contact Council’s Small Business Development Manager, Margaret Murray, on 5671 2211 or 5951 3311, or email m.murray@basscoast.vic.gov.au
