Seminar To Tell Of Protection From Phising, Worms And SpamA seminar designed to help businesses protect themselves from phising, worms and spam will be held at the in the Lakes Room, Bairnsdale RSL Wednesday, 1 March at 8.00pm. By East Gippsland Shire Council - 27th February 2006 - Back to News East Gippsland Shire Council’s Sandra Bailey said that these were all "nasties" associated with on line business and which had the potential to cripple those without protection.
"While email and the Internet have brought huge benefits, particularly to distant regions like our, there are risks too," she said.
Ms Bailey said the free of charge seminar would cover banking or transacting other business on-line, how to yourself and your customer information and what government requires from business.
Funded by MultiMedia Victoria and staged in cooperation with the Bairnsdale Chamber of Commerce and Industry the seminar will be presented by well-known local "VicNet" representative Owen Polanski.
The seminar will be held after the BCCI general meeting that begins at 7pm Refreshments and finger food that will be served from 6.00 p.m.
