The $150m Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation was established by the former Coalition Government to provide support to people seeking help for problem gambling.

A total of $37.5m was allocated each year for four years. This was cut to $36.5m in both 2015/16 and 2016/17.

At the same time, gambling revenue increased.

While the Minister claims Labor is investing $150 million over the next four years (‘$50b Pokies Pain’, Herald Sun, August 1, p. 1, 4), the Budget Papers confirm the amount is actually $148 million.
