Latrobe’s coordinator, performing arts and venues, Kathleen Roberts said that the performance was a condensed version of the popular musical.
"Alexandra plays Sarah the Salvation Army officer who desperately tries to change some of the ways of Sky Masterson and his dice throwing gangster friends. John plays Arvide, also in the Salvation Army. The characters, Adelaide, Nathan and other gangsters, together with Arvide and Sarah, bring this musical masterpiece to life.
"Love eventually overrules all other matters and everyone lives happily ever after – even the sinners in the audience! Songs include ‘Luck Be a Lady’, ‘I’ve Never Been in Love Before’, ‘I’ll Know’, ‘Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat’ and ‘Take Back Your Mink’," Ms Roberts said.
"This fantastic show presented by Style Music Theatre, founded by John Lidgerwood, features great songs, comedy and romance and whilst it may only run for an hour and a half, it’s a fast-paced, fun feast not to be missed," Ms Roberts concluded.
