CITIZENSHIP CEREMONY

Three Bass Coast residents officially became Australian citizens at a ceremony in Wonthaggi on 27 October.

Mother and son, Orla and Damien Daly from Ireland and Denise Rendall from the United Kingdom all became naturalised at an emotional ceremony, attended by Council dignitaries and family and friends.

The new citizens now reside in Inverloch and Wonthaggi.

MEN’S HEALTH MOVIE

The Bass Coast and South Gippsland Men’s Health and Wellbeing Alliance (MHWA) will host a special movie screening at Wonthaggi Cinema on 28 November.

Men’s Group – what lies in the hearts of men (rated M15+) is an independent production that follows the story of six very different men who meet once a week. They soon discover that they are not as alone in their fears as they had presumed.

The MHWA is a Bass Coast Shire Council initiative with 40 active and non-active members. One of the first to establish in Victoria, there are now four other men’s health and wellbeing groups – all of which are invited to the screening.

Council’s Community Development Facilitator, Tony Cornish, is also encouraging women and the men’s families to attend the special night, which he said would provide a unique insight into the lives of men.

For more information contact Community Development Facilitator, Tony Cornish, on 1300BCOAST (226 278).
