Country Action Grant Applications CalledThe Nationals Member for Eastern Region PETER HALL said today that applications are now open for grants of up to $5000 under the 2007 Country Action Grant Scheme. By The Nationals - 2nd March 2007 - Back to News "The Country Action Grant Scheme is designed to assist sport and active recreation groups in rural and regional Victoria, specifically focusing on skills improvement and strengthening organisations," Mr Hall said.
The scheme recognises the vital role played by these local organisations in strengthening communities through increasing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate in sport and other physical activities, he said.
Funding is available in three categories: improving organisations; enhancing skills; and including everyone; with preference given to projects which increase the capacity of community sport and recreation organisations, involve collaboration between community organisations across localities, and include different sport and active recreation activities.
"I encourage local organisations to get their applications in," Mr Hall said.
Applications for the 2007 round of the Country Action Grant Scheme can be lodged on-line (preferred method), via email or post with applications being received by 16 March 2007 for the second assessment phase. Projects must be undertaken between 14 May and 31 December 2007.
