Vouchers Available For Companies To Develop Use Of Cutting Edge Technologies Member for Morwell Russell Northe is inviting local companies to apply for a Technology Implementation voucher, worth up to $250,000, to develop the use of technologies to improve their products, By Russell Northe - 25th September 2013 - Back to News processes and services and enhance their ability to compete in local and international markets. Mr Northe said that applications were being sought for novel projects using technology solutions as part of the Victorian Coalition Government’s $8 million Technology Voucher Program. "We’re providing opportunities for all companies to be at the leading edge in the global marketplace through the development of innovative products, processes and services," Mr Northe said. "The Technology Implementation voucher, worth up to $250,000, helps companies get through the critical stages of demonstrating the technical viability of projects and scaling up for commercial implementation. "These vouchers focus on projects that create more competitive products, processes and services through the application of small technologies, industrial biotechnology or advanced information and communication technology in innovative or novel ways. "Successful companies will be awarded Technology Implementation vouchers to undertake substantial testing or applied development activities in order to adapt, adopt or develop technology-enabled innovation for new practice or new markets," Mr Northe said. Mr Northe said that seven companies were awarded Technology Implementation vouchers earlier this year.
"Under the previous funding round local company Samaran International were awarded a Technology Development Voucher for $50,000 as part of the Victorian Coalition Government’s $8 million Technology Voucher Program," Mr Northe said.
"Samaran International Pty Ltd received funding to develop a remote monitoring and decision support system, using sensor and communication technologies, for real time data on milk volume and temperature prior to collection." The Technology Voucher Program is a flagship program under the Coalition Government’s $150 million Victoria’s Technology Plan for the Future, which promotes technology-enabled innovation across the economy and supports the growth, development and global competitiveness of Victoria’s technology sectors.
