Tenant nominations now open for Frances Penington Award & Molly Hadfield Award 2017
The Department of Health and Human Services are calling for nominations for The Frances Penington Award and The Molly Hadfield Awards.
"In every community there are exceptional individuals and organisations who reach out, lend a hand and get involved and theses awards are about recognising tenants and tenancy groups within our community who are making positive contributions" Mr Northe said."These are often the people that go above and beyond to help others and in doing so, build a strong community spirit." Mr Northe said.
The Frances Pennington Award recognises an individual public or Community Housing Tenant, or group of Tenants, who are making outstanding voluntary contribution to their community.
In keeping with the memory of Frances Penington, this award recognises the achievements of role models, community builders and local heroes who have gone out of their way to help their neighbours, volunteered with a community group, or proactively found solutions to address local neighbourhood issues.
The Molly Hadfield Award recognises the achievements of an individual public or community housing tenant, or a group of tenants, who are having a positive effect on the lives of older tenants. The award recognises the work of the late Mary (Molly) Hadfield who was a dedicated advocate for public housing tenants.
"It would be fantastic if a number of nominations from the Latrobe Valley were submitted for these important awards" said Mr Northe Applications for the Frances Penington and Molly Hadfield Awards Close December 1st 2017 Further details can be found on the link below:
