Bass Coast Winners Take On The Region

Archies on the Creek and Maru Koala and Animal Park were declared the best in the region at the Gippsland Business Awards

By Bass Coast - 7th September 2011 - Back to News

Both businesses have previously been recognised in our own Bass Coast Business Awards.

Four hundred guests attended the event on Friday, 26 August in the Monash University Auditorium at Churchill.

Bass Coast Shire Council’s Economic Development Manager, Peter Francis, said the result was a wonderful endorsement of the local business community.

"Archies on the Creek picked up the award in the Hospitality Category, while Maru won the award for Tourism, and the Good Access is Good Business Award," said Mr Francis.

"Congratulations to them both. It shows that our local businesses really do provide a top class service.

"Congratulations to all the other Bass Coast finalists, a number of which also participated in the 2011 Super Pages Bass Coast Business Awards, held earlier this year.

Mr Francis said that both award events provide promotional opportunities for local businesses.

"As with our own Business Awards, entering is a chance to reflect on your achievements and look at your business plan," Mr Francis said.

"The winners of these awards get some valuable promotion and all the finalists have the opportunity to network with other business owners from the region.

"Each finalist in the Gippsland Business Award was presented on WIN TV in the lead up to the business awards evening and the winning businesses receive further advertising on television," said Mr Francis.

"The promotion they receive really does have an ongoing benefit to their business."

Eleven of the fifty-one finalists from across the whole of Gippsland who entered the Bendigo Bank 2011Gippsland Business Awards, were from Bass Coast. They are:
