Sale Outdoor Pool opens with a splash!

Wellington Shire Council’s extensively revamped Sale Outdoor Pool was opened with a splash on the weekend with a pool party to kick-start the summer pool season.

Local residents enjoyed the pool-side celebration with free entry, free BBQ, local band Cornerstone, Streets ice-cream give-aways, and the Loopy Dragon giant inflatable.

The opening was the first time the public were able to take advantage of the newly renovated facility that now features a ‘wet deck’ and competitive swimming improvements.

Removable starting blocks have been installed for use during competition and user groups will benefit from the new option of a 10-lane division of the 50 metre pool.

These upgrades provide an even safer environment for pool-users and improve access for people of all ages.

Said Wellington’s Mayor Jeff Amos: "We are keen to encourage residents to take the opportunity of regular exercise including through use of our pools. The improvements to the Sale Outdoor Pool will provide users with a much improved swimming environment thanks to greatly enhanced facilities. This fits in with our commitment to provide safe and fun recreation activities for everyone to enjoy."
