Victorian Coalition Government invests $840,000 for young Victorians to start or grow their own business Applications now open for Getting Down to Business program

Coalition committed to building opportunities and career development in young people The Victorian Coalition Government today announced $840,000 in funding over four years to Getting Down to Business, an initiative that supports young people starting their own enterprise. Member for Morwell and Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business & Tourism Russell Northe said the Coalition Government is committed to investing in young people to help generate opportunities and career development. "Getting Down to Business will provide 120 young people who have a passion for enterprise, with an opportunity to gain inside knowledge and expert advice on how to start and grow a business," Mr Northe said. "Applications for 2014 are now open to young Victorians aged between 16 and 25 who are keen to take part in short courses, networking opportunities and presentation days, and learn from experienced facilitators through coaching and mentoring programs." Melbourne-based organisation, Enterprising Partnerships, will deliver the Getting Down to Business initiative over four years and are looking for young entrepreneurs to apply. Getting Down to Business is part of the Coalition Government’s $1.8 million four year Enterprise Strategy which provides opportunities for young people to gain skills and experience to achieve their dream careers.
