Under this, community organisations and councils as well as other stakeholders will be able to apply for grants to improve safety and prevent crime in their local communities.

Under the Building Safer Communities Program, Victorian Councils, community groups and organisations, along with other stakeholders will have the opportunity to apply for grant funding for the purposes to support innovative, evidence-based approaches to address crime and improve community safety, under two competitive grant streams.

"I do encourage local community groups, organisations and Council’s to consider applying for funding through this program, to which if successful this could well make a real difference on the ground" Mr Northe added.
