Entries Open For 2012 Business Awards 2011 Business Awards Entries are now open for the 2012 Bass Coast Business Awards! Bass Coast Shire Council is again proudly partnering with SuperPages to run the prestigious Awards. By Bass Coast - 25th May 2012 - Back to News Following on from the success of last year, the Awards will run in two parts. A People’s Choice section will run alongside the Business Awards, so businesses and their customers can be involved.
Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Veronica Dowman, said the Awards are one of the most popular annual events for our local business community.
"The SuperPages Bass Coast Business Awards are a way to raise the profile of local businesses and highlight the benefits these businesses bring to the Shire," said Cr Dowman.
"The People’s Choice section is always well supported. When someone from the community nominates a business for a People’s Choice Award, they go in the running for a $250 shopping voucher. There are also some real economic and promotional benefits for businesses that get involved," explained Cr Dowman.
"I encourage everyone to support the 2012 Awards and again make the Awards night a highlight of the year."
Entries
All businesses in Bass Coast, registered to receive business mail with Australia Post, will receive a Business Award kit in the mail. The kit will include entrant’s information, an entry form for the Business Awards as well as a nomination form for the People’s Choice Awards. Entry forms will also be available from Bass Coast Shire Council Customer Service Centres. Business Award entries close on 20 July 2012.
There are five categories in the Business Awards:
• Business Excellence - sponsored by Thiess Degremont
• Marketing and Promotion - sponsored by Destination Phillip Island
• New Business - sponsored by Victorian Government
• Environmental Sustainability - sponsored by Westernport Water
• Good Access is Good Business - sponsored by Rural Access
The overall winner – the 2012 Super Pages Bass Coast Business of the Year - will be selected from the winners of these categories.
People’s Choice.
Council is asking members of the community to vote for any business operating in Bass Coast that they believe provides exceptional service.
"We all know excellent customer service when we have experienced it, so now is the time to show your support for your favourite local businesses and nominate them in the People’s Choice Award," said Cr Dowman
"Businesses are not able to nominate themselves in this section, but they should encourage their customers to put in a nomination!"
Nomination and voting forms are also available online at basscoast.vic.gov.au . Entries are limited to one per person, per business. People's Choice voting closes on 10 August 2012.
Gala Award Presentation
The excitement of the Business Awards culminates at a Gala Presentation Dinner on Friday, 24 August 2012 at Silverwater Resort, San Remo. The evening is open to all businesses, not just those that have been nominated, and any business can book a table for their staff and/or friends.
